In 2024, Mike Bubbins set himself a challenge of learning Welsh and becoming "One in a Million" Welsh speakers by 2050. We follow Mike's efforts to learn the language as he meets other Welsh learners along the way.

“I’d like to be one of a million Welsh speakers by 2050. I think that’s realistic. A third of the population. I want to be One in a Million, that’s the plan.”
The series follows Mike month by month as he registers himself for Welsh classes, tackles Welsh mutations and tries his best to use the language day to day.
The reality of the challenge is having to juggle his busy work schedule whilst filming a new series of ‘Mammoth’ as well as going to evening classes. He needs new ideas and inspiration to learn the language in a different way.
