Cwmni Da has been named as one of the 13 independent production companies selected for its Content Futures 2026 accelerator launched recently in London. The brand-new Indielabs initiative will strengthen the UK sector and has been designed to reflect the new market environment.
The three-month programme brings together a cohort of established indie producers at a critical moment for the UK screen sector, supporting them to sharpen strategy, identify new commercial opportunities and make confident decisions in a structurally changing market.
Bethan Griffiths, Cwmni Da Chief Executive said, “We’re proud to be part of this year’s cohort. The sector faces real challenges, but where there’s challenge, there’s opportunity – and Cwmni Da is ready to seize it. We’re committed to evolving how we work, strengthening our current partnerships, and shaping what comes next in this new marketplace.”.
“This is such a timely opportunity to learn from the best in the business” added Olivia Simove , Cwmni Da’s Director of Content. “The panelists and speakers that we get to meet, plus the other indies on the scheme – everyone has their own bit of gold to offer. In an industry that often feels siloed and competitive, the companies in our cohort are refreshingly warm, open and keen to be helpful to each other.”
The 2026 cohort includes:
Cwmni Da, 14th Floor Productions, Beezr, Chalk Productions, Freedom Scripted, Happenstance Films, Hello Dolly, Raucous Pictures, Renaissance Studios, Saffron Cherry Productions, Telltale, Unified Productions and Vibrant Television.
Victoria Powell, Founder and CEO of Indielab spoke at the launch:
“The market has changed – not temporarily, but structurally. What we’re seeing with this year’s cohort is a group of strong, established companies who are reassessing how they operate, where they focus and how they generate value. Content Futures is designed to give them the space, insight and frameworks to make those decisions with clarity and confidence.”
